Leeuwin II

Australia's biggest sailing training ship was built as a sister ship for the "Spirit of New Zealand" and intended for young people on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Australia

the ship was called after a Dutch galleon which was the first to sail around Cape Leeuwin, the southwestern cape of Australia, in 1622.

mostly offers 10 day trips for young people

transfer of seamanship knowledge and personality training. This is also available to groups and companies.

has mainly sailed in home waters, participated in the Sydney Hobart Tall Ships Race in 1988, and in in the Regatta from Freemantle to Bali (1990)

her hull was built keel upwards and launched in this position. It was then righted up in the water and slipped again so that the ship could be completed.

in August 2024 heavyly damaged by a container ship in Fremantle Port, the rigging was completely destoyed.
