participates in many sailing events all over the world, i.e. Osaka, Boston, Amsterdam, Rouen, Bremerhaven, Rostock and takes part in tall-ship races in Europe, i.e. in 2005 and 2010.
2013 it was planned to take part in the Royal Australian Navy's International Fleet Review in early October, but the ship's rig was heavyly damaged in a storm at the coast of Western Australia in August, repairs were carried out at Fremantle, AUS.
the name "Dewaruci" comes from the Indonesian legends where it is used for a god of the sea, standing for courage and bravery, her figure head shows this god, "KRI" is the short form for "Kapalperang Republik Indonesia", meaning naval ship of the Republic of Indonesia.
