Built at Bergen in Norway in 1907 as a fishing lugger, she sailed as Njord, first with a steam engine and later a diesel.
She was out of commission between 1944 and 1989.
In 1989 her present owner Jaap van der Rest bought her and converted her himself into a modern sea-going vessel with a ketch rig, used to test young people's staying power and courage.
Since 1992 she has worked in charter, sailing mostly Danish and German waters and to Baltic cities, and attends many maritime events such as Kieler Woche and the Hanse Sail in Rostock.
In the winter of 2001/2002 she was converted into a three-masted gaff schooner with work on the hull, and in 2008/2009 into a barquentine.
