A replica of the barque Dunbrody, built at Québec in Canada in 1845 for the Graves family of New Ross. The original carried many emigrants to the New World between 1845 and 1870.
The new Dunbrody houses an educational exhibition re-enacting life on board as she carried passengers from New Ross to the United States and Canada in the middle of the nineteenth century. The exhibition is the result of extensive research over several years by the Kennedy Trust, drawing on material from Dunbrody's ship's box and original manuscripts including passenger lists.
She was launched in February 2001 and opened to visitors at the quayside in New Ross from May 2001. She took part in the Tall Ships Race at Waterford in 2005 and made her maiden international voyage to Milford Haven in Wales in June 2006.
