A replica of a vessel built in 1904 by J. A. Henriksson at Äppelö, Hammarland, in the Åland Islands, when ships of this type carried timber, fish and other foodstuffs.
She was built at a temporary yard in Mariehamn: timber was procured in 1986, the keel laid in 1987, and she was ceremonially launched in July 1988 during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race at Mariehamn. Rigged in the spring of 1989, she sailed for the first time that May.
She has been a symbol of seafaring in the region ever since, and has proved a fast ship on many occasions. Today she is used mainly to train schoolchildren and young people in traditional sailing.
