built 1904/05 at the "Blohm und Voss" shipyard for the German Laeisz shipping company
used to transport salpetre from South America (Chile) to Germany
in the beginning of WW I she was in Santa Cruz de la Palma (Canarian Islands), given as reparation to Italia after the war in 1920
1924 the Laeisz company bought the ship back, used to transport salpetre from South America again
1931 sold to the finnish shipping company Erikson, new homeport was Mariehamn, several grain races to and from Australia
1941 confiscated by New Zealand, she sailed several times to North America with different shipments (grain, wool, coal)
1949 laid up together with the "Passat", given back to Erikson
voyages carrying grain under Finnish flag, after that used as grain depot in Pernarth, transmitted to Antwerpen in order to dismantle the ship
1950 bought back to Germany organized by an initiative leaded by Mr. Schliewen and Mr. Grubbe (together with the Passat), intention was to use the ships as sailing cargo ships combined with the training of seamen
general restoration 1950/51 in Kiel, equippment with a diesel engine
several voyages between Hamburg and Rio de Janero, out of service because the lack of money from 1952 - 1954
1954 a group of 40 shipping companies bought the ship in oder to use her as training vessel for young seamen, until 1957 5 voyages to South America as sailing cargo and training vessel
lost on 09/21/57 about 600 sm West-Southwest of the Azoren islands in the Atlantic caused by a hurrican (Carrie), only 6 lives from the 86 person crew were saved
