her registered port became Constanza (Black Sea), maiden voyage. in the Mediterranean, used to train naval cadet officers and merchant cadets.

short coastal trips with naval cadets during the WW II, she came under Russian flag but was given back then.

further trips in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean between 1946-65.

1965-66 general overhaul in Hamburg to save her class.

used to train cadet officers and merchant cadets then no longer exclusively in the Black Sea and Mediterranean, visited other parts of Europe, Africa and North America.

participation in the Tall Ships Race in London and Amsterdam in 1975 as well as the US Bicentennial Tall Ships Race across the Atlantic in 1976.

laid up during the end of the 1990s due to economic reasons.

after a general overhaul she visited American-Canadian ports on the Atlantic coast in 2004, participated the Tall Ship Challenge 2004 calling the ports of Charleston, Baltimore, Providence, New London, Halifax, Arichat, Sydney.

participated the Tall Ships Races 2005 visiting Amsterdam and Bremerhaven festivals.

she is named for a Romanian prince Mircea Staria (1383-1418) who liberated his state from Turkish power and so established Romanian sea trading for a while.
