Built at a yard in Fécamp for Charles Le Borgne of Fécamp as a Grand Banks schooner for the waters around Newfoundland.

From 1924 to 1929 she fished for cod. In 1930 she was sold to Denmark and brought to Esbjerg, with several modifications and an engine fitted. She fished and later worked as a freighter between the Faroe Islands and Denmark, and from 1940 to 1945 carried goods between the Faroes and England for American and British troops.

Sold in 1946, she continued fishing; sold again in 1954 she was rebuilt several times and lost her rigging. She fished herring and shrimp until 1969, was then used only sporadically and was finally abandoned at Tvøroyri in 1973.

In 1978 Swedish owners bought her, wanting to explore and travel the world; she was taken to Stockholm and restored by 1987. She sailed with guests mainly in the Baltic, took part in the Columbus regatta across the Atlantic in 1992 and carried an advertising contract with the Swedish brewery Pripps.

From 1998 she served as a floating museum, permanently moored. In 2004 she returned to France for a general overhaul of hull and rigging.

On voyages with sailing guests she serves today as an ambassador for Normandy and France and takes part in sailing events.
