Lili Marleen belonged to the Deilmann shipping company and was a cruise liner of a special class.
Her crew of twenty-five offered passengers a comprehensive service, though guests could work the sails if they wished.
She generally sailed the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, though she also visited the Baltic from time to time, and was a guest at the Rostock Hanse Sail in 1997 and 2004.
In 2004/2005 she was sold to Malaysia.
She was named after the poem by Hans Leip, set to music by Norbert Schultze.
