A replica of the 1609 exploration ship of the Dutch East India Company, whose captain Henry Hudson was hired in 1608 to find a northeast, all-water route to China and Asia.
After crossing the Atlantic he explored the region of North Carolina and Delaware Bay and found the Hudson River.
The replica was built to the plans of a sister ship held in the Dutch naval archive at The Hague. She has visited many towns on the American and Canadian coasts and the Great Lakes and has been used as a film ship.
