One of the largest sailing ships in Sweden today. Launched as a cargo vessel at the Oskarshamn yard in 1940, she worked Swedish waters until 1997.
Today she is chartered for the greater part of the season by Den Seglande Gymnasieskolan, the sailing upper-secondary school, which offers students a programme combining theory and practice.
To meet today's demands for safety and comfort she has undergone a complete hull restoration and a refitting of the rig. Her routes are often set to follow the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races, the STI races and sailing festivals.
Her figurehead shows a young woman modelled on Gunilla, the daughter of a former owner. The original figure survived a collision in the 1960s and can be seen in the maritime museum at Oskarshamn; the replica was made at the end of the 1990s.
