Built in 1998 by the private yacht builder D. B. Marine in Essex to the design of the Maine trading coastal schooners by Murray G. Peterson.

In the summer of 1999 she ran charter trips on the English south coast and in Ireland; in the autumn she sailed to Spain and the Canaries and from there by way of Cape Verde to Antigua in the West Indies, chartering up and down the islands. In April 2000 she took part in the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.

She then crossed the Atlantic back to Europe, cruised the Azores and continued to Portugal; after a thorough check and attention to varnish and paintwork she sailed to Plymouth.

Floryn is a classic gaff schooner suitable for worldwide cruising, charter or sail training, and has been for sale since 2001.
