She went through many names: Noah (1903), Peder Most (1945), Anna Thora and later simply Thora (1946), and Artemis from 1947.
For years she was engaged in merchant trading in the Baltic, sailing to England, France and the Mediterranean. Her first engine was installed in 1930 and her rig cut down at the start of the war. From 1954 to 1965 she worked as a coastal motor vessel with auxiliary sails.
In 1965 Nick Dekker refitted her as a three-masted schooner with a square topsail, to sail between ports as a floating antique ship. She took part in the 1976 transatlantic regatta from Plymouth to the USA and never returned to Europe: a Texan owner used her as a travelling museum ship, and in 1979 she was sold to an Englishman living in Canada.
On 9 May 1980 she sank in heavy seas on passage from Mobile in the Gulf of Mexico to St John's. All seven crew were saved.
