Built in 1949 by Elie Garnier at Les Sables-d'Olonne under the name Leclerc de Hauteclocque.
She fished out of Les Sables-d'Olonne, taking tuna between the Azores and Ireland in season and flatfish in the Bay of Biscay from November to May. After Garnier died in 1966 she lay unused for a time.
Gaston Parfait then bought her and renamed her Tin-Hinan. In 1981 Jacques Vidil of Marseille acquired her, gave her a full overhaul and by 1984 had rebuilt her for charter work and sailing with guests in the Mediterranean, when she took the name Alliance.
