Designed on the model of the English pilot cutters by Nigel Irens Design and Ed Burnett, built by Covey Island Boatworks at Petite Rivière, Nova Scotia, and launched on the La Have river.
She sailed the south shore of Nova Scotia in the summer of 1998, then crossed the Atlantic to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. In 1999 she visited Ireland and France to prepare her crew for the Tall Ships 2000 races, which she sailed from Plymouth to Cadiz, Bermuda, Boston and Halifax and back to Amsterdam.
In 2001 she sailed the English Channel, took part in the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race from Antwerp by way of Ålesund and Bergen to Esbjerg, competed in the America's Cup 150th Jubilee Regatta and appeared at the International Festival of the Sea and the Old Gaffers Regatta in Portsmouth.
Based on the Isle of Wight, she usually sailed week-long voyages with small groups of young people, giving them a taste of handling the force of nature at sea. She was later renamed Alexander T. In 2021 she lay in Barcelona and was for sale.
