Launched in 1956 after six years of building, she was made for her builder's own use.
Strong and well proven, she is an ideal platform for teaching both traditional and modern seamanship. In 1999 she worked as a sail training vessel in a youth programme, and in the spring of 2000 with adult groups and individuals.
In September 2000 she set out on a two-year voyage to Ireland by way of the Panama Canal and the Caribbean, along the US East Coast and across the Atlantic.
