One of the last large vessels built of oak to a traditional design. She was launched in 1951 at the J. Ring Andersen yard in Svendborg; her first owner, R. P. Sørensen, ran her to Greenland as the motor coaster Mona. Her construction and ice plating allow her to work Arctic waters.
From 1953 to 1964 she belonged to A. E. Sørensen and sailed as Svendborg; under E. Sørensen she was renamed Activ in 1968. After 1976 she changed hands several times before the Baltic Schooner Company, based in Guernsey and later London, took her over.
Between 1977 and 1980 Michael Kiersgaard rebuilt her at Troense, to the order of the Hamburg architect Volkwin Marg, as a three-masted schooner with three topsails. She has sailed the North Sea and the Baltic, crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Newfoundland several times, and appeared in film and television work, among them Jack Holborn and a Sergio Leone feature.
Since 1999 she has sailed the Mediterranean in Spanish, Italian, Greek, Turkish and Dalmatian waters, registered under the British flag with London as her home port.
